P@$5w0rds (passwords) How to not burn down your house in 3 easy steps.

I’ve often thought about buying one share of stock in a company that I like and framing it. Also only one share because I am poor. :) But who wants to go through all of the rigamarole of dealing with brokers, and blah-blah-blah?! Not me… so when I found out about Single Share I though to myself: “Cool.”.

There are several I want, but I’ll probably only end up getting one or two since the cost is more than I have just laying about (~$120.00US+ per stock with a frame [I like black] and plaque). I could go the cheaper route and get the clipframe without the plaque. That would cut the price in (just about) half.

I think it would be funny to have Microsoft and Apple in my home office, but that might be a little too geeky, even for me. Maybe Coca-Cola? Because “Coke is it - Pepsi’s shit!”.

Yeah. I made that up about 20 years ago or so when I gave Coke my full allegiance as far as sodas go. I even went to the “World of Coca-Cola” museum the first time I went to Las Vegas; but that has nothing to do with stocks as gifts. But it does remind me of one of my favorite monologues from The Simpsons (specifically Grandpa Simpson):

We can’t bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. Fun trick is to tell them stories that don’t go anywhere. Like to time I took the ferry over to Shelbyville to get a horn for my shoe. So I got a ferry ticket to Morganville, which was what we called Shelbyville at the time, and I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. Now a ticket for the ferry cost only a nickel, and back then, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. “Five bees for a quarter,” you’d say. Now where was I? Oh yeah, the important thing is, I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, you couldn’t get white onions, because of the war. All you could get were those big yellow ones.

Great… looks like my ADD is acting up again. :)
