This is the first instance of a LOL platypus that I know of, and it’s hilarious; courtesy of my good friend Russell.

Just a quick shot of the boys and I after watching the horror that is the annual Lutefisk eating contest at Viking Fest. *ewww*

A few weeks ago a friend from our local community theater (thanks, Dale!) recommended our 6-year old as the voice-over talent to the organizer of a local childrens event, the Kitsap Youth Expo. We went in, Evan did about a hour of takes, and the finished product is below. Needless to say we are beaming with pride. :)

Lots of love to all my family and friends as we leave 2007 and move into 2008. And for my brother from another mother Joe, a song which should make you laugh:

Tangerine Dream - Loved By The Sun (from the movie Legend)

It was a great New Year, for goodness sake! LOL. :)

It’s been an interesting week for me, personally. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around some recent events that have been a long time coming. I can’t really go into detail, but suffice to say that it feels good to do and say the right thing, even if it’s many years late.

There have been a few bittersweet conversations, some long over-due apologies, a little closure, and maybe, just maybe… a new beginning. I have no idea what to make of all of this yet, and even though I have been thinking about it for many years the reality of it is much more intense than I had imagined.

They say that time and tide change for no man, but every now and again the currents change just enough for you to paddle through the endlessly changing waves of life and come out into the clear, open ocean. And you’re a little better for it. Today I feel that way.

Thank you, R, for your kind words, your understanding, and much more.

Just try to get 3 young boys to all look in the same direction and smile, with eyes open, at the same time. It’s not easy.

Evan lost his first baby tooth today. He and I were working on loosening it up a bit when one push of the tooth jarred it almost all the way out. Or what we thought was almost. In fact, it must’ve been kept in by suction or something, because (thinking it was still in there) I handed him some water to rinse with when he accidentally swallowed it; water, tooth and all.

For a split second I thought to myself “We can fish it out later.“, but I quickly realized that’s not such a good idea. So instead he drew a picture of his tooth and the tooth fairy left him $2.00 for his first tooth.

One less baby tooth.

Today was Evan’s first day of school, and it was an exciting time for us all. For the last few weeks he’s talked about nothing but taking the bus, meeting new friends, and learning new things. We were even given a countdown this morning was like watching a NASA launch, with a reminder every 15 minutes from Evan letting us know when the bus comes.

Here are a few pictures from today:

Just before we headed out to the bus stop.

He loved his new school shoes.

Sooo excited to get to class.

Taylor thought it would be a fun trick to put the mini-toy basket on his head. He looks like a baby version of one of the Knights Who Says Ni:
