I don’t know how or why I found this picture, but I found it and it’s funny.
And thinking about the quote they must be talking about the Old Testament God, because that’s kind of harsh. ![]()

I keep seeing more and more of the same types of stores popping up everywhere, and it’s not just Starbucks. All over the county that I live in there are several brand new (or at least “coming soon” signs for):
I’m not kidding… within a 10 mile radius we’ve probably got 20+ places to change your oil, about 5 Walgreens, and more than a dozen payday loan stores. Plus about a bajillion Starbucks. Starbucks is kind of it’s own thing with their quest for world domination, but I didn’t realize that there was such a calling for automotive chassis lubrication, cheap beef jerky, and an extra $100 before your next pay day around here.
A buddy of mine let me borrow a copy of The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers official Oscar screener DVD that his band mate bought from eBay. Here are a few notes on this event:
I can’t tell you how long I’ve been Jonesin’ to watch this movie again. Well, OK… I can. Right after I saw it in the theaters with Kimberly last year.
or the last few weeks I’ve had just this huge wave of hyper-creativity come over me. I know it sounds odd when just yesterday I was bitching about being sick; but that notwithstanding, my head has been spinning with all kinds of ideas. I’ve had to resort to writing them down so that I can do something about them in the future, since I know I’ll never remember them when I want to. It’ll end up being one of those “Oh, shit! What was that one thing I wanted to do that time when I had that idea?” things. I hate those.
Anyhow, I’ve been a writhing ball of creation: drawing, writing jokes for my oft-dreamt of stand-up comedy career, notes for online publishing systems, and reading way too many math, programming, and science books. I’ve even delved back into C programming a bit. Unfortunately my ambitions far exceed my skills in that area, so I port everything to PHP and make it web-based.
I think I’d like to spend about 6 months just getting it all out of my system and writing all the apps, jokes, drawing all the pictures, and doing all of the organization in my office that I want to do, but I know that won’t happen until I win the lottery. And knowing me, even then it might not happen. ![]()
Evan’s old enough now that he knows when he goes (or has to go) #1 or #2, and sometimes he tells us. Of course, we don’t always have to be told as our olfactory senses clue us in right away, but it’s great for his development that he is vocal about it.
TMI time: Bill Cosby once talked about how the stink in a childs doo doo (his word; not mine) comes at around 4 months old. And let me just add that it reaches its full adult-sized maturity at about 5 months old. Evan is almost 21 months old now, so I’m pretty sure you can see where I’m going with this.
Anyhow, I’ve gotten really good at changing his diapers. I’d say with decent prep work done before hand (diaper out, powder ready, etc.) it only takes me about 30 seconds from start to finish. But sometimes the #2 puts me in high-gear and I feel like I’m part of a NASCAR pit crew, I’m so fast.
We attended the wedding of our theater friends Chris and Anna today. Kimberly and I were a little late to the wedding itself, but it was a good time nonetheless. The best part, however, was the reception. They had it at the recently renovated Admiral Theatre and had a live band playing jazz all night long.
Of course, I instantly headed towards the bar; weddings are one of the few times I’m sure to drink if it’s available. Three drinks later I was havin’ a good time. Not so good that I’d be ashamed to see my friends the next day, but just enough to be a little naughty in a socially-acceptable way.
Well, it’s July 4th again, and as usual we didn’t do a whole heck of a lot. Oh, we went to Kimberly’s friend Michelle’s house during the day for a birthday/Fourth of July 4th party; but we didn’t stay too long since Evan has to be in bed around 8PM and also we’ve got moths up the wazoo around here at night.
This year, however, was the first time that Evan was into the fireworks. He kept yelling “More! More!” whenever someone would light some off. I think next year I’m going to head to the Suquamish Indian Reservation and buy some fireworks for us. Not a crazy amount or any dangerous ones… just some simple sparkly-type ones so he can ooo and awww over them.
