Picture this… it’s about 7PM and we’re in the middle of watching “Monsters, Inc.” on Pay Per View. At this time, Evan decides he’s hungry, so since we just had an early Thanksgiving with my mom yesterday we decide to let him try some mashed potatoes. Fine. He’s had mashed potatoes before, and he’s really liked them. The only difference this time, and I can’t believe we forgot about it, is that they were “skin-on” mashed potatoes.

Big mistake!

After a few bites Evan starts choking… just a little at first, so we’re not too worried since he does this once or twice when eating usually. But then he starts crying when he does it, sucks in his breath, and then proceeds to stop breathing while he’s choking. That’s when we start to freak out. Long story short is that I got him to puke out the mashed potatoes and he’s fine. But holy shit, were we scared!

About an hour or two later Evan was fast asleep when Kimberly and I decided to talk about it and we both just broke down thinking about what happened. You never know when or where something like this is going to happen, and it really shakes you up when it does!
