You gotta love it when you spring an idea on your CEO and he immediately says “That’s brilliant!“.

Kimberly and I saw “The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring” today and all I can say is WOW!!!

The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring.

It completely overwhelmed me; something that I didn’t think could happen after seeing/reading/hearing all the hype and factoring that I have been a devotee of all things Tolkien since I was about 10 years old. You simply must go see this movie as soon as possible… it’s got something for everyone: magic, swordplay, intrigue, romance, action, and more!!!

And may I just say that the casting of the movie was spectacular? I mean, hello; Ian McKellen makes the perfect Gandalf, Christopher Lee as Saruman totally creeped me out, and Elijah Wood was a helluva Frodo. Not to mention Sean Astin as Samwise Gamgee, and all of the other fine actors and actresses. The Balrog scene was riveting, the death of Boromir was heart wrenching, and I can’t get enough of the creepy Ring Wraiths. Ian Holm made a great Bilbo as well… a bit darker than I had perceived him in my many forays into the series, but an excellent performance nonetheless.

I can’t wait to get this movie; nay, the entire trilogy, on DVD! It will be precious, my precious… my only question is whether or not they will film a live version of The Hobbit?!

So it’s time for a new(er) computer and I decided on a laptop. My last computer was a Dell and I really liked it, so I figured that I may as well get another from them, an 8100. (Not so) Surprisingly it kicks @$$ over my current work desktop so I’ll probably be using that one less and less and just drag the laptop around with me. Plus with a DVD & CD-RW drive I can watch movies and saves the good shizz wherever I am. Plus I can work in the living room now, so Kimberly will be happy.

Dude, you’re getting a Dell.

Tonight I helped a woman not get the crap beaten out of her when leaving Safeway.

Long story short is that she and her “man” were in a big fighting match in the parking lot, taking swings at her and whatnot, and I called the cops. A few minutes later the guy runs off, the cops roll up, I give my report, and the lady gets to safety.

Last night I gave Evan his first bottle, and a few days before that we finally succumbed and let him use a pacifier. I know, I know… but I figure that if we get him off of the pacifier by about 6 months old we should be OK. Right, right?

He’s already trying to suck on his fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists; pretty much anything he can get his hands on. Note to self: wear shirts while holding Evan. Anyhow, now I can help Kimberly with the feedings at night, which are the roughest on her, I think. Luckily he slept about 3-4 hours in a row last night, so it wasn’t that bad.
